Walk the great sand ridges the way they were meant to be walked, with a guide who reads the slope, the wind, and the weather before setting a single foot. Our dune expeditions range from gentle half day walks to demanding full day crossings across Coral Dunes and the open sand sea. You learn the short step, the rolling ankle, and the quiet heel that keeps the surface firm, so the crossing becomes a rhythm rather than a struggle.

These routes are chosen for their light. At sunset the ridges turn copper and the shadows stretch long; at sunrise the cold air holds every grain still. Small water drops, a packable lunch, and a trail briefing are included on every departure.

Sleep on a high ridge beneath a sky with no competition. Our night camps are scheduled around the lunar calendar so the moon rises and sets at the right hour, and the Milky Way has room to breathe. Your guide sets the tent, the sleeping pads, and a low cooking circle, then walks the group through the constellations, the planets, and the satellites moving overhead.

Nights are never crowded. Campsites are limited to twelve travelers and are scouted weeks in advance for wind shelter, flat ground, and an open horizon. A warm meal, hot drinks, and a headlamp are provided for every camper.

Move single file through sandstone narrows where the walls rise to arm span width and the sky becomes a ribbon overhead. Our slot canyon treks in Grand Wash and the Candy Cliffs require careful hand and foot placements, and your guide teaches each move as the group passes through. The reward is the deepest quiet on the property, a cool shadow world that holds the desert together.

These routes are paced slowly and never rushed, with frequent stops for water, shade, and photographs. Helmets and gloves are provided, and no prior canyon experience is required.

Chase the best light on the best days, guided by a leader who knows exactly where the sun will fall and the shadows will pool. Our photography tours time each stop to the golden hour and the blue hour, covering dune crests, canyon mouths, and ridge viewpoints that frame the landscape perfectly. The group is capped at eight photographers so nobody fights for position.

Tripods are welcome and recommended, and the guide carries a small spotting scope for wildlife. No camera experience is required, though every traveler should be comfortable walking a few miles on soft ground.

For groups that prefer to drive their own way across the backcountry, we handle everything that sits between you and the road. Our logistics service plans permitted routes, arranges fuel and water drops, scouts camp spots, and coordinates trailhead shuttles so your vehicles end up where you need them at the end of the day. We also provide a support guide who rides sweep and carries the recovery gear.

This service is built for clubs, outfitters, and private groups of four or more vehicles. Every route is confirmed against the current permit map and checked for washouts before you arrive.

Learn the basics that keep a traveler safe in open country: reading the weather, carrying the right water, signaling from a ridge, building shade, and navigating by sun and stars. Our workshops are taught by certified desert instructors and run on a short loop near base camp, so every lesson happens on real ground rather than in a classroom.

Each workshop ends with a practical drill in which the group builds a shelter and a signal fire from found materials. Certificates are issued on completion, and private sessions can be booked for schools and scout groups.
